YOU ARE BEING CALLED TO JOIN US FOR A THREE-DAY RETREAT FOR CATHOLIC WOMEN

May 29 - 31, 2026

ABBEY OF THE HILLS RETREAT CENTER
MARVIN, SD

Come and Climb the Mountain of the Lord.

The Most Holy Eucharist is the Source and Summit of our Catholic faith. It is the greatest gift we will ever be given in our lives. As St. John Vianney said, "There is nothing so great as the Eucharist. If God had something more precious, He would have given it to us." Yet currently our Church is undergoing a serious crisis…a crisis of faith.

A 2019 study by Pew Research showed that only 31% of Catholics believe that the bread and wine truly become the Body, Blood, Soul & Divinity of Jesus Christ during the Mass. Over two thirds of Catholics believe the bread and the wine are just symbols. How is this possible? Perhaps it is because they have never opened themselves to encountering Jesus, Truly Present before them, in the Most Holy Eucharist. Jesus is waiting, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, to welcome each of us with open arms, and every time we approach the altar to receive Holy Communion, we have a chance to come face to face with our Lord and Savior. We have a chance to become truly one with our Lord.

As he promised us, "Those who eat My Flesh and drink My Blood, live in Me, and I in them." With this beautiful gift from our Lord, we can truly become one blood, one body in Christ. We can have our own mountain top moment with Jesus, we can be transformed by His Body and Blood. We can achieve new union with God by the help of this sacrament…the Source and Summit of our faith.

"In the Eucharist, the Son of God comes to meet us and desires to become one with us; eucharistic adoration is simply the natural consequence of the eucharistic celebration, which is itself the Church's supreme act of adoration."

- Pope Benedict XVI
